Background
Having graduated as a Mental Health Nurse 1997 and gained a BA Health from University of Strathclyde 2001, Ann has worked in adult hospital inpatients and later as a CPN team manager working in community. Ann completed the South of Scotland CBT course at Queen Margaret University Edinburgh 2006 and is an accredited CBT Practitioner with BABCP - the lead body for CBT in the UK, and supervises trainees as well.

After leaving the NHS, Ann set up her own company delivering CBT counselling and worked at a private hospital in the Eating disorders and alcohol teams, as well as a lecturer within Further Education.

Ann also helped develop, train and assess on the successful NHS Glasgow SPIRIT (Structured Psychosocial InteRventions in Teams) project.

After being based with SPIRIT and also a Course Leader/Teacher on the PSI Psychosis University course in Glasgow, Ann took up the post as Head of Health and Wellbeing UK and International for a Glasgow based Medical & Wellbeing company. During this time Ann co-wrote on a range of award winning guided self-help books, online and face to face resources and courses.

Ann has trained multiple teams across the UK, as well as in the EU, Canada, USA and Dubai. These include a variety of health and social care teams, charities as well as EAP and other companies.

Ann has a personal interest in Mindfulness, Meditation, Yoga and Compassionate Mind/Acceptance Commitment Therapies and is bringing these skills into all aspects of work.

Ann’s specialist skills lead her ideally placed to provide consultancy, content, workshops and training.
